Diethylene Glycol

Diethylene glycol is a straight-chain dihydric alcohol aliphatic compound whose ends terminate with a hydroxyl group. It is a highly hygroscopic, odorless and non-corrosive liquid with the consistency of syrup.

Diethylene glycol uses as moisture-retaining and dehydrating agents, polyester polyols and esters used as lubricants and mating agents, as a dehydrating agent for natural gas, as a solvent in textile dyeing and printing, as a component in hydraulic fluids, emulsifier-demulsifier, and lubricant and also uses as a selective solvent for aromatics in petroleum refining.
