Ethyl acetate, although the systematic name is ethyl ethanoate; Common use is abbreviated as EtOAc or EA. Ethyl acetate is an ester of ethanol and acetic acid and is a frequently produced substance as it is a strong solvent in the industry.

Ethyl acetate also used as an activator and hardener in paints. Ethyl acetate is the most known ester in wine and the most known volatile organic acid used in foods. Ethyl acetate is produced in the fermentation step. It is used by placing ethyl acetate in acetone and acetonitrile to clean and remove nail polishes. Ethyl acetate is a source of acetate in inorganic processes. It acts as an activator and hardener in the paint industry and is used as a process liquid in ink and adhesive.
