Methyl iso-Butyl Ketone

Methyl Iso Butyl Ketone is also referred to as MIBK. It is a ketone type active organic solvent. Partially water soluble and miscible with many solvents.

Ketone which acts slightly lower solubility on the polymer groups dissolved in acetone is used for gums, resins, polishes. Methyl iso-butyl ketone is a solvent with high solubility in paints, varnishes and nitrocellulose lacquers, epoxy and polyurethane systems and inks. Mixing of MEK and Acetone can be used in paint production. The methyl iso-butyl ketone also has surface-regulating functions.
