Methyl Acetate

Methyl acetate is also known as MeOAc, acetic acid methyl ester or methyl ethanoate. Methyl acetate is sometimes used as a solvent as weakly polar and lipophilic. Methyl acetate is unstable in the presence of strong aqueous bases or aqueous acids.

Methyl acetate is used in glues, paints and nail polish removers.
